1. The Golden Rules of Matrimonial Safety
Never Send Money or Financial Aid
CeylonNikah will NEVER ask you to send money to other members. If anyone asks for loans, travel funds, or emergency assistance, report them immediately.
Keep Your Wali / Family Involved
Always ensure discussions, background checks, and meetings are coordinated through family elders.
2. Meeting Prospects in Person
- Public Locations Only: First meetings should always take place in a reputable public place or at the bride’s family home with family members or guardians present.
- Independent Verification: Verify family references, place of work, and masjid connections within the community independently.
- Report Suspicious Activity: Use the "Report Profile" button or contact our support helpline if any member exhibits dishonest behavior.
3. Protecting Your Phone Number & Photos
- Phone Privacy by Default: Your mobile and WhatsApp number are never revealed without mutual proposal acceptance, unless you explicitly set your number privacy to public.
- Modesty Photo Veils: Keep candidate photos "On Request" so only approved suitors can inspect them. Watermarking and screenshot blockers prevent unauthorized copying.
- Matrimonial Hold: If discussions with a prospect become serious, toggle "Matrimonial Hold" in Settings to hide your profile from search results while preserving your chats.
