1Acceptance of Terms & Scope of Agreement

By accessing, browsing, registering an account, or purchasing any service on CeylonNikah.lk (referred to as "the Platform", "CeylonNikah", "We", "Us"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

These terms apply to all visitors, registered members, parents, and legal guardians accessing the platform from Sri Lanka and overseas (including GCC/Middle East, UK, North America, Australia, and other diaspora communities).

2Eligibility, Authenticity & Purpose

CeylonNikah is strictly a matrimonial platform for genuine marriage proposals. By registering, you affirm and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction).
• You are legally competent to enter into an Islamic marriage contract (Nikah) under the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act (MMDA) or applicable civil laws.
• All bio-data, educational details, civil status, photographs, and National Identity (NIC/Passport) documents submitted are 100% truthful, accurate, and up to date.
• You are seeking marriage in good faith. Casual dating, friendship, commercial solicitation, extramarital relations, or misleading intent are strictly prohibited.
• Candidates and families may register either via our online registration wizard or directly through our official WhatsApp Concierge (+94 77 790 0278), with mobile contact verification conducted via SMS or WhatsApp OTP.
• Account Activation Policy: Following registration, new accounts enter a pending review state. Candidate profiles are activated either: (a) Manually by CeylonNikah compliance review officers, or (b) Automatically by our AI verification engine once all registration details, bio-data fields, and 6-digit phone OTP (via SMS or WhatsApp) are confirmed. Upon activation, the candidate automatically receives the official Phone Verified badge.
• Mandatory Verification Consent: By completing registration via any channel (Web, Mobile, or WhatsApp), you explicitly consent to the collection, verification, cross-referencing, and processing of all submitted bio-data and identification documents in accordance with Section 3 below and our Privacy Policy.

3Data Processing, Verification & Explicit User Consent (PDPA Compliance)

In strict compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 (PDPA) of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, CeylonNikah processes personal data solely for legitimate, authorized matrimonial matching, identity authentication, and fraud prevention purposes:

• Scope of Processed & Verified Data: Data subject to collection, verification, and processing includes: legal names, dates of birth, marital history (including divorce certificates or deceased spouse records where applicable), educational qualifications, employment and occupational credentials, residency/citizenship status, contact numbers (mobile & WhatsApp), profile photographs, and official government-issued identity documents (National Identity Card [NIC], Passport, or Driving License) along with live biometric verification selfies.
• Verification Rights & Cross-Referencing: You explicitly authorize CeylonNikah and its appointed compliance officers to examine and verify the authenticity and truthfulness of all submitted details. This includes automated optical character recognition (OCR), database deduplication, reverse telephone authentication, and manual cross-referencing against internal security databases, past submission records, and blacklists to prevent impersonation, dual identities, and matrimonial fraud.
• Third-Party & Guardian Submission Warranty: If you submit information, photos, or documents on behalf of another individual (such as a son, daughter, sibling, or ward), you explicitly represent and legally warrant that you have obtained the full, informed, and lawful consent of both the candidate and their family. You agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless CeylonNikah, its operators, and affiliates against any claims, disputes, or legal liabilities arising from unauthorized profile submissions.
• Audit Trail Retention & Blacklisting: In the interest of community safety, CeylonNikah maintains immutable audit logs of registration timestamps, verification approvals/rejections, and consent acknowledgments. If a profile is determined to have submitted fraudulent credentials, stolen photographs, or forged identity documents, CeylonNikah reserves the legal right to retain cryptographic hashes of offending NICs and phone numbers on a permanent blacklist to protect other families.
• Social Media & Broadcast Matrimonial Outreach Authorization (Facebook, WhatsApp Status & Public Groups): In the sole interest of assisting the candidate in finding suitable marriage suitors, the Member explicitly authorizes CeylonNikah to publish non-identifying matrimonial summaries (including candidate age, marital status, educational background, profession, hometown/district, height, and partner preferences) across CeylonNikah's official Facebook page, public matrimonial groups, and official WhatsApp Status. Under no circumstances will personal legal names, telephone/WhatsApp contact numbers, photographs, or identity verification documents be revealed or published in such outreach broadcasts.
• Cooperation with Law Enforcement: In cases involving criminal impersonation, financial fraud, dowry extortion, harassment, or formal judicial proceedings in Sri Lanka, CeylonNikah reserves the right to share verified records and activity logs with law enforcement authorities (including the Sri Lanka Police, Criminal Investigation Department [CID], and competent courts).

4Wali (Islamic Guardian) & Family Management

In accordance with Islamic modesty and Sri Lankan cultural traditions, parents, siblings, or appointed Islamic guardians (Walis) may register and administer profiles on behalf of candidates with their explicit consent.

All notifications regarding proposals, phone number reveals, and interactions can be routed to the registered guardian's phone or WhatsApp to preserve full family transparency.

5Gender Interaction, Privacy Gates & Communication Safety

To uphold Islamic ethics, personal dignity, and family honor:

• Cross-Gender Discovery Only: Male members can only browse and initiate contact with female profiles; female members can only browse and initiate contact with male profiles. Intra-gender profile access is restricted.
• Phone Number & WhatsApp Privacy: Contact telephone numbers are private by default. Numbers are only exchanged when both parties mutually accept an Express Interest proposal, or can be revealed by verified members without prior approval if the member explicitly configures their contact privacy to "Public to Verified Members" in their privacy vault.
• Name Privacy & Initial Masking: Full names and first names are masked by default across search listings. Profiles display initials or their unique system ID (e.g. LK-1042) until mutual proposal acceptance or explicit permission is granted.
• Modest Image Privacy: Female candidates may use modest illustrated Hijab avatars or upload personal photos with an automated privacy blur. Blurred images can only be inspected upon an approved Photo View Request.
• Watermarking: Uploaded profile and identification photos are watermarked and protected by software-level scraping and screenshot prevention.

6Free Starter Tier & Welcome Contact Gift

CeylonNikah believes finding a life partner should be accessible to all Muslim families without mandatory upfront paywalls:

• Free Forever Registration: Creating a bio-data, undergoing verification, appearing in search results, and receiving marriage proposals from verified suitors is 100% free of charge (Rs. 0).
• 1 Welcome Contact Unlock: Every newly registered and approved member receives 1 complimentary Welcome Contact Unlock credit to view the verified telephone & WhatsApp number of a mutual match.
• Non-Refreshing Welcome Credit: This 1 welcome credit is a one-time signup gift. Once used, it does not replenish automatically.
• 5 Lifetime Member Chats & Weekly Viewers: Free Starter accounts are allocated 5 Lifetime Member Chats and Unlimited Weekly Profile Viewers. When an interest proposal is accepted, all incoming messages can be read for free. Sending a reply to an accepted candidate consumes 1 member chat credit; once unlocked, all back-and-forth messages in that specific thread are completely free and unlimited.

7Rolling 7-Day Quota Replenishment Cycle

8Non-Expiring Add-On Booster Packs

Members who wish to reveal additional phone numbers, dispatch extra express proposals, unlock extra candidate chats, or reveal more profile viewers without upgrading their subscription tier may purchase Non-Expiring Add-on Booster Packs (e.g. 5 Phone Unlocks [Code: PHONE - Rs. 2,000], 10 Express Interests [Code: INT - Rs. 2,000], 5 Halal Member Chats [Code: CHAT - Rs. 2,000], 25 Profile Viewers [Code: VIEW - Rs. 2,000], or Power Matchmaker Combos [Code: COMBO - Rs. 6,000]).

Credits purchased via Add-on Packs are stored in the user's wallet balance and never expire until utilized by the member.

9VIP Subscriptions, Validity & Lifetime Plans

CeylonNikah offers premium plans (Silver VIP 3 Months, Silver VIP 12 Months, and Gold VIP Lifetime) providing priority candidate listings, higher weekly allowances, and dedicated matchmaker support.

• Gold VIP Lifetime (Imperial Tier): Remains active without recurring fees until the member contracts their Nikah or requests profile archiving.
• Pausing Profile: Members may put their bio-data "On Hold / Paused" during active matrimonial negotiations. However, pausing does not extend the fixed expiration calendar of 3-Month or 12-Month packages.

10Refund & Cancellation Policy

Due to the immediate provisioning of digital contact unlock quotas, communication privileges, and profile verification services:

• Subscription and Add-on purchases are strictly non-refundable once any interaction quotas or contact reveals have been utilized.
• Refund requests submitted prior to profile activation or verification approval will be reviewed and refunded within 5–10 business days.
• Accidental duplicate gateway charges are refunded in full upon submission of bank transaction proof.

11Community Feed Proposals & Unregistered Submissions

To accommodate families who prefer not to create a full 10-step member account, CeylonNikah maintains a curated Community Feed:

• Unregistered Proposal Submission: Families and guardians may submit marriage circulars directly to the Community Feed via SMS or WhatsApp OTP verification without registering as a permanent member.
• Guest Proposal Inquiries: Unregistered visitors browsing the Community Feed may submit a direct marriage proposal to listed profiles via SMS or WhatsApp OTP verification and brief candidate details.
• 1-Hour Ethical Take-Down: If a community proposal has resulted in a finalized marriage or was published without consent, guardians may trigger the 1-click "Request Ethical Take-Down" flag. The listing is permanently removed within 1 hour.

12Account Moderation, Rejections, Bans & Blacklisting

CeylonNikah operates advanced AI moderation audits combined with human compliance screening:

• Submission Rejection & Data Preservation: Incomplete submissions or unreadable NIC/selfie documents are flagged as "Action Required" with feedback. All 10 steps of user data are preserved, and members may resubmit corrected details.
• Zero-Tolerance Offenses: Commercial matchmaking brokers, fake profiles, married persons misrepresenting bachelor status, vulgarity, financial solicitation, or harassment result in immediate, permanent bans.
• Permanent Identity Blacklist: Telephone numbers and National Identity (NIC) numbers belonging to banned accounts are permanently blacklisted across our database.

13Account Deletion, Telephone Verification & 14-Day Erasure SLA (PDPA Section 15)

In accordance with Section 15 of the Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 (PDPA), registered members possess the legal right to request complete account deletion and data erasure:

• Member Deletion Request: Any member may request permanent account deletion via Account Settings → Deactivate / Delete Account on Web or Mobile.
• Immediate Search Shield: Upon request submission, the member's bio-data is immediately hidden and masked from all search directories, suitor recommendations, and proposals.
• Admin Deletion Queue & Mandatory Phone Verification Call: To protect members against malicious unauthorized tampering (e.g. by relatives, unauthorized phone access, or former spouses), all deletion requests are submitted to our Admin Deletion Queue. A CeylonNikah compliance officer conducts a mandatory telephone call to the candidate's registered telephone number to verify authentic identity and voluntary consent.
• 14-Day Permanent Purge SLA: Following telephone call verification, CeylonNikah permanently and irreversibly purges the candidate's profile, personal bio-data, identity documents (NIC/Passport scans), photos, and private messages within 14 calendar days.
• Cancellation Window: Candidates may cancel their pending deletion request at any time during this period by logging into Account Settings and selecting "Cancel Deletion Request & Keep My Account".

14Prohibition of Profile Harvesting & Unauthorized Sharing

To protect the honor and safety of Sri Lankan Muslim sisters and brothers:

• Extracting, republishing, screen-recording, or sharing CeylonNikah candidate details onto social media groups, third-party brokers, or external directories without explicit written consent is strictly prohibited.
• Violators will face immediate, permanent account termination without refund, legal notice under Sri Lankan privacy laws, and reporting to relevant civil authorities.

15Disclaimer & Due Diligence Notice

CeylonNikah conducts rigorous NIC document screening and verification. However, CeylonNikah does not guarantee marital success or the moral character of individual members.

Families, guardians, and suitors are independently responsible for conducting their own personal, religious, and family background checks (Tahqiq & Istikharah) before formalizing any matrimonial arrangement.

16Automated WhatsApp AI Concierge & Right to Human Intervention

To ensure 24/7 accessibility and responsive service, CeylonNikah operates an automated AI Concierge assistant (Sister Fathima AI) via our official WhatsApp account (+94 77 790 0278):

• Automated AI Identity & Transparency: The WhatsApp Concierge is an automated conversational artificial intelligence service powered by CeylonNikah AI technology. It is not a human being. It assists users with proposal searches, bio-data document intake, quota status inquiries, and platform navigation.
• Unconditional Right to Human Takeover: In accordance with Sri Lankan consumer protection standards and the PDPA, users interacting with the WhatsApp bot possess an unconditional right to request human assistance. By typing "HUMAN", "AGENT", "COORDINATOR", or "HELP" (or "மனிதன்" in Tamil / "මිනිසා" in Sinhala), the automated AI is immediately paused, and the conversation is escalated to a live human matchmaking coordinator or compliance officer.
• No Automatic Legal Decisions: The WhatsApp AI assistant does not make final automated decisions regarding profile approvals or bans; all profile verifications, document authentications, and disciplinary sanctions remain under the direct authority of human compliance officers.

17Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, including the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 (PDPA) and the Electronic Transactions Act. Any disputes arising in connection with the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Sri Lanka.
